Cinnamon Sugar Donut Bread

A delightful treat bringing together the warm flavors of donuts in a convenient loaf form, perfect for breakfasts, snacks, or desserts.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (for the cinnamon sugar mixture)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for the cinnamon sugar mixture)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, kosher salt, and ground nutmeg.
  3. In a separate large bowl, combine the whole milk, egg, melted unsalted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gently combine the wet and dry ingredients using a spatula, being careful not to overmix.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon for the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan and sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over it. Repeat with the remaining batter and cinnamon sugar.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Pairs wonderfully with coffee, tea, or milk.
