Festive Orange Clove Christmas Cookies

Delicious holiday cookies infused with warm spices and a zesty orange flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Molasses
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon Clove
  • 1/2 teaspoon Allspice
  • 1 tablespoon Orange Zest
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Icing Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Orange Juice
  • 1 tablespoon Cointreau (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Clove (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the butter, honey, and molasses until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the spices and orange zest, mixing until fully combined.
  4. Gradually mix in the flour and salt until just combined.
  5. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Roll the dough into tablespoon-sized balls and space them on a lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly browned and centers are soft.
  8. Cool cookies on a baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  9. Prepare the glaze by mixing icing sugar, orange juice, Cointreau, and ground clove until smooth.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over cooled cookies and let set for 30 minutes.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week. Freeze for longer storage up to three months.
